    An aerosol sampling device was constructed by the IC3 team in 2010 and transported to Tsukuba University in Japan in 2011, where collaborating Japanese scientists at the National Institute for Environmental Science in conjunction with an IC3 engineer, coordinated 4 airplane flights over Japan in March 2011 for the collection of aerosol samples.
